If you don't want to watch the video, the quote is this:
"Who are these bloggers? They’re not trained editors at Vogue magazine. There are bloggers writing recipes that aren't tested that aren't necessarily very good, or are copies of what really good editors have created and done. Bloggers create a kind of a popularity but they are not the experts. We have to understand that."You have to understand, Martha is THE crafter. Just like Tiger Woods is THE golfer. Love her or hate her, Martha is the person who sets the bar. And she has an enormous following of folks who take her at her word. If she says craft bloggers are not experts, well, that can really hurt the credibility of someone like myself.
I know a lot of you guys come here expecting top quality crafts and DIY projects. And now, after seeing Martha, I bet at least half of you are totally wondering, "Does Marigold really know WTF she's talking about?! OMG! I did that one tutorial she had and I *thought* it turned out awesome, but now I'm thinking maybe it was total crap and all my friends were probably laughing behind my back! What are her credentials, anyway?? Is she duping us all?! I WILL NEVER TRUST A BLOGGER AGAIN!"
For those of you thinking exactly that, I want you to take a chill pill. You're a little over-stressed. But, just in case your trust in my expertise has faltered, I want to prove to you that I am a fully credentialed Expert Craft Blogger. I have a degree and everything. Here it is:
It totally has a gold star, and everything. So, obviously, it's legit. You can relax knowing that you are in expert hands here. There's no need to throw away the things you've made that have been inspired by this blog. I hope this eases your minds and we can all move on from this.
