Mrs. Peacock Accessories

I read somewhere on the Alt Summit site that we should "think color, not costume" for the Clue party, so I thought I should add a little more blue to my Mrs. Peacock outfit. I think, though, if you're gonna call it a Clue Party, you should have costume elements in there! Otherwise, why not just call it a Pretty Rainbow Colors party? Maybe the decor is what is supposed to reflect the Clue-ness.
Whatever the deal is, I'm doing a bit of both!

So I found a few tutorials on Pinterest about painting your heels with nail polish, and I decided to give that a whirl. I imagine they will chip, but I only need them to last for an evening, right? I used a few layers of polish, starting with a base coat of silver, then teal and then royal blue. I think they final color is quite peacock-y. I'm not sure anyone will notice, though, since the heel is quite low.

And I kept coming back to the idea of holding a weapon. My husband suggested making a purse in the shape of a gun or a candlestick. I preferred the candlestick idea, but couldn't figure out how to run a zipper nicely along the curved edge. And then it struck me that I have a whole shop devoted to selling zip pouches embellished with fabric marker - so how about doing that, genius? So I made this! And now I can smack people on the head with my purse and say I'm method acting!

I leave in three days! I'm so excited that I can't stop using exclamation points!
