Box of Mysterious Disguises

This past weekend we were invited to attend a family reunion in Hermosa Beach. Our generous hosts rented a big, fancy house right on the boardwalk and provided us with lunch and dinner, so I wanted to give a little hostess gift to express our gratitude. Since I had never met our hosts before, and really didn't know their tastes, I decided to make a gift for their kids. Mustaches are super hot on Etsy right now, and I have been wanting to do something along that theme for awhile, but wasn't quite sure what to make. And since Huck recently has been playing with his Mr. Potatohead a lot, and he is especially fond of trying to wear the mustaches, a disguise kit seemed like the perfect way to get my 'stache on.

Robert Smith Softie and New Wave Baby Booties Gift Set

Ever since I made William and Harry, I have been wanting to make more chewy celebrity softies. Who better to cut teeth upon than Robert Smith? He comes with booties and is available here on Etsy.

Chair Cover & Accent Pillow

Before:

After:

I finally covered our horribly disgusting, most embarrassing piece of living room furniture. I have no idea what the gross stain is. I think it started as a small stain, but then I tried to clean it and made it worse. Then it became a cat chair, and I gave up on it ever being nice, and I'd throw a blanket over it any time company came over and freak out if someone removed the blanket. But no more!
I bought this fabric a long, long time ago with the intent to cover this chair, but I never got around to it until a couple of days ago. And oh! What a difference a chair cover makes! I don't know why O didn't do it sooner--it took me a naptime and a half to make both the chair cover and accent pillow.
We are in the midst of a Living Room Revival right now. Steve brought home a nice (free!) entertainment center, and it has started off a whole chain of living room beautification. More pictures to come. Eventually.
This fabric is from Joel Dewberry's Ginseng line. Chair cover is Orchid Petal in Mulberry and the pillow is Orchid in Celery.
