Gifts for Baby Voutouvans

Our friends William & Johanna are having a baby very soon. Johanna is Greek, and her mother told her that she shouldn't leave the house until the baby is 40 days old on account of possibly contracting Evil Eye. I made this onesie in the hopes that the poor kid could get a little sunshine:

technique: freezer paper printing
materials: organic cotton Gerber onesie, freezer paper, Deco Art So Soft! Fabric paint

And since I made something for the Greek side, I had to make something for Baby Daddy William's Japanese side. I found a tutorial for making baby kimonos and modified it a bit to make it long sleeved. I also added a faux fur lining so that it could be used as a jacket for the cold New York winters. Outer fabric is "Koto" by Alexander Henry in aqua. I also discovered how to make my own bias tape for this project (described in the tutorial). Fun!

Gifts for my Midwifery

Some necklaces I made as thank you gifts for the women at my midwifery. Pendants available from Fashion Refined on Etsy. Beads and chain from Michael's and from my stash.
