Freezer Paper T-Shirt

I recently discovered the technique of Freezer Paper Printing. This is my first attempt at it, and I think it came out really well. Basically, you take a sheet of freezer paper, cut out a design, iron it onto your fabric and then use fabric paint to stencil on the image. When it dries, peel off the freezer paper and Viola! the results are very similar to screenprinting. I used this picture of Huck and turned it into a silhouette in PhotoShop. After I stenciled on the design, I sewed/embroidered the strings on the birds using a bright orange thread.

materials I used:
Fruit of the Loom blank toddler t-shirt in size 2T/3T
Reynolds Freezer Paper
Deco Art So Soft Fabric Paint
orange thread
iron
sponge brush

  1. the print look great!

Ruth and I just bought some freezer paper and are excited to give this technique a try. We have lots of little white onesies to practice on. This technique may also be really nice to use with the middle schoolers i will soon be teaching.

    thanks,
